About the Role:

We are seeking a dedicated Support Worker to supervise safe, child-centred family time between children and their parents/carers and provide practical support in family homes and community settings. You will play a vital role in promoting positive relationships while safeguarding children and ensuring compliance with statutory guidance (Working Together to Safeguard Children 2023) and NACCC standards.


Key Responsibilities:

• Complete risk assessments and session plans with lead professionals.
• Ensure sessions are delivered safely, intervening if necessary.
• Prepare parents/carers and address practical barriers (transport, resources).
• Record objective observations using agreed templates.
• Upload timely, factual reports for case reviews and court.
• Recognise and report safeguarding concerns promptly.
• Work in line with NACCC and Cafcass standards for supervised contact.
• Apply trauma-informed practice and domestic abuse considerations (PD12J).
• Provide practical parenting support (routines, play, safety).
• Signpost families to relevant services and share information with professionals.
• Maintain professional boundaries and confidentiality.
• Engage in reflective supervision and mandatory safeguarding training.


Person Specification:

Essential:
• Experience supervising high-risk contact sessions.
• Knowledge of safeguarding legislation (Working Together 2023, PD12J).
• Strong recording and reporting skills.
• Ability to manage challenging situations and de-escalate conflict.
• Enhanced DBS clearance.
• Flexible availability and full UK driving licence with access to a vehicle.


Desirable:

• NACCC training or knowledge of supervised contact standards.
• Experience preparing reports for court.
• Training in safeguarding supervision skills.
